Former Sri Lankan minister Arumugam Thondaman passes away

Politician Arumugam Thondaman, leader of Ceylon Workers Congress passed away on Tuesday, according to local news reports.

Srilankan media outlet EconomyNext cited that Thondaman was admitted to Thalangama base hospital.

He was a former Cabinet Minister of Livestock and Rural Community Development.

Thondaman is the grandson of prominent unionist Saumyamoorthi Thondaman.
