A video of police personnel charging at a group at a metro station is being widely shared online as Chinese cops nabbing those who are suspected of being infected with COVID-19. The “heart-wrenching” clip of policemen attacking the mass with batons and pepper spray was investigated by Alt News for its veracity. Performing a reverse image search on one of the key-frames, it found that the video was actually that of the special police controlling vandals at an anti-government protest in Hong Kong last year.
