Corona virus, first detected in China, is spreading across the world. The news of the death tolls because of this virus is bringing worry to people.

Following this, a set of precautionary instructions are going viral in Facebook and WhatsApp. It says that consumption of fried and spicy foods are to be avoided and advises people to wear mask. It also says that leaving the throat dry makes the virus multiply all over the body.

On investigation, it was found that the instructions sent by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the above viral instructions doesn’t match. 

The information issued by the Ministry initially, gives instructions for the people travelling to China. The updated version says that people returning from China, if they sense any discomfort, should contact 011-23978046. It also requests people to wash their hands frequently, avoid contact with live animals and avoid uncooked meat.
