A post showing a lion wandering a street claiming that the Russian President Vladimir Putin had unleashed lions and tigers in the streets to keep people inside their houses is going viral on social media.

The caption says,'Vladimir Putin has dropped 800 Tigers and lions all over the country to push people to stay home'.

On google reverse imaging, it was found that the post was from April 15, 2016 when a production company brought the lion, called Columbus, for filming in Johannesburg, South Africa. This proves that the picture was not taken in Russia and the viral post is an allegation.
