A Dalit woman in UP’s Hathras, who was gangraped, succumbed to her injuries on September 29.

The police denied the woman’s last rites were performed without her family’s permission. A video has been pushed to support the police’s statement. Even the district magistrate claimed the family consented to the funeral.

Alt News did a fact check and found a video where an elderly man is seen tossing wood into the pyre. The man, however, was not a part of the victim’s family.
