This week, a video of a policeman mercilessly beating up a young boy went viral. It was reported that the boy was wandering the streets of Delhi’s RK Puram in search of food. What followed were tweets claiming it was an 8-month-old video of a cop thrashing a chain snatcher. Alt News found that PTI reported the incident as recent and police officials stated that the cop was suspended. “We suspended the constable and have also initiated an inquiry into the matter,” said an official.
