A lengthy text message has gone viral on WhatsApp which claims that Japan’s Nobel Prize-winning immunologist Tasuku Honjo said that coronavirus is not natural but “manufactured by China”. Along with the text, there is a link to Honjo’s Wikipedia page. Alt News fact checked this and found that in an e-mail, a PhD student working under the scholar gave out a statement on behalf of the professor that “Prof Honjo never made any such statements.”
