Youth found dead near railway track in Ariyalur

Based on information from the public, the Ariyalur police retrieved the body of a youth from the railway over bridge on Tuesday and sent it to the Ariyalur GH. The police who registered a case and commenced investigations.

Tiruchy: A youth was found dead along the railway track under mysterious circumstances in Ariyalur on Tuesday.

Based on information from the public, the Ariyalur police retrieved the body of a youth from the railway over bridge on Tuesday and sent it to the Ariyalur GH. The police who registered a case and commenced investigations.

Police found that the deceased was M Boopalan (34) from Anna Nagar near Valaja Nagaram in Ariyalur. Further probe revealed that Boopalan used to frequent the railway gate area during night hours to consume liquor.

On the day of the incident, Boopalan, who was heavily drunk, had reportedly stayed near the railway gate. Police suspect that he should have been run over by the train. Still, investigations are proceeding considering different angles.
