Virudhachalam extends lockdown till July 31

In a measure to curb the fast-spreading Corona in the city, the Municipal Corporation authorities have decided to extend the ongoing lockdown till this July 31st.

Corona infestation has been steadily increasing in Cuddalore district in recent days. As of yesterday, 1,510 people have been affected in the district. Coronal dispersal is still affecting the area and surrounding areas.

As the situation continues to increase, the municipality of Virudhachalam has announced that a full curfew will be in effect at Cuddalore district from tomorrow.

The Virudhachalam municipality has ordered the closure of all shops except the essentials shops and hospitals.

As many as 4,244 persons tested positive for coronavirus infection in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, the state health department officials said.
