District administration officials have failed to create awareness among voters in Sholingur, Ambur and Gudiyattam that they must exercise their franchise twice on April 18. According to locals, very few among them were aware that they must vote for candidates of both the Assembly bypolls and the Parliamentary elections. While the Ambur and Gudiyattam (Reserved) Assembly segments form part of the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency, the Sholingur constituency falls within the Arakkonam LS area.
