UN felicitates Coimbatore based rural arts influencer

UN honoured such artists marking its 75th anniversary, Kalaiyarasan is the first Indian to be have been conferred with this award.

Founder of 'Graamiya Pudhalvan' (rural scion) Kalaiyarasan says kids of today are detached from their roots and they need to be aware of their heritage.

For his ceaseless efforts in the outreach of rural arts, the United Nations has honoured him.

Kalaiyarasan is also an ambassador of arts in the Tamil Nadu government.

UN honoured such artists marking its 75th anniversary, Kalaiyarasan is the first Indian to be have been conferred with this award.

He says he will request TN government to include rural arts in school and college syllabus.
