“The RBI which should maintain transparency in all its dealings goes in tandem with all misdeeds conceived by the Narendra Modi government,” Thirunavukkarasar charged. He also found fault with the Centre for not announcing financial relief packages for the state which was hit by the December 2015 floods and the recent Cyclone Vardah. “While the state claimed Rs 25,912 crore as relief, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who did an aerial survey only handed over Rs 1,940 crore as relief.

Similarly, even after submission of report by the Central team, the union government did not provide a single paisa,” he said. The Congress leader is expected to pay homage to former chief minister MGR on his birth centenary celebration on Tuesday at the party headquarters by offering floral tributes to his portrait. All the prominent leaders are expected to take part.
