TNCC chief Selvaperunthagai warns of Thottipaalam plaque vandals

The TNCC president also insisted that stringent action must be initiated against the persons who engaged in the violent act.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) chief K Selvaperunthagai on Tuesday condemned the desecration of a plaque bearing the image of Kamarajar by miscreants at Mathur Thottipaalam in Kanniyakumari district.

Stating the desecration of the plaque has shocked the people loving Kamarajar in the region, Selvaperunthagai condemned the incident and sought expeditious action from the State police against the miscreants who engaged in the condemnable act. The TNCC president also insisted that stringent action must be initiated against the persons who engaged in the violent act.

Stating that the desecration incident happened in the backdrop of a spurt in the activities of communal groups in the region in recent times, the TNCC president said that there was a danger of a deterioration in the law and order situation in the area if stringent action is not initiated immediately. Police must initiate stringent action against miscreants, he said.
