TN forms advisory council to develop fiscal model

The state government on Monday constituted an advisory council to develop a federal fiscal model with experts on legislation as members.

CHENNAI: The council has been constituted under the chairmanship of Arvind P Datar, senior advocate in Supreme Court. K Vaitheeswaran, advocate, Madras High Court, G Nagarajan, also advocate at Madras High Court, Suresh Raman, vice president and region head, TCS- Service Sector, Srivatsa Ram, MD, Wheels India ltd, K Velmurugan, president, Hosur Small and Tiny Industries Association, are other members of the council.

The constitution of the council was based on the announcement made by Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan in the Budget speech, in August last year, in which he said that the state government will establish an advisory council to develop a federal fiscal model with experts on legislation involving revenue and taxation (including GST).
