Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy commenced 500 buses purchased for Rs 154 crore for the Tamil Nadu Transport Department. He also inspected the insides of the buses.

235 buses were reserved for Chennai State Transport Corporation, 118 buses and 147 buses were reserved for Tamil Nadu Express Transport Corporation and Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation respectively.

For Salem 60, Vilupuram 18, Madurai 14, Kombakkonam 25, Coimbatore 16 and Nellai 14 buses were provided.

The Government Express Transport Corporation buses has restrooms and berth facilities. Speaker is set to announce the bus stops.

Facilities are available to hold the crutches of physically challenged people.

New buses from Tourism Transport Corporation were also commenced.

Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Ministers MR Vijayabhaskar, Vellamandi Srinivasan, Head Secretary Shanmugam amd many other officers participated in this event.
