A total of 24 police personnel were selected for the President's Medal for distinguished service and Prime Minister's medal for meritorious service on the occasion of the Republic Day.

This included three police officers for President's medal and 21 for Prime Minister's medal, an official release said today.

Abhay Kumar Singh, ADGP, Idol Wing, Shailesh Kumar Yadav, ADGP Social Justice and Human Rights and P K Pethuvijayan, SP, Organised Crime Intelligence Unit were chosen for the President's Police medal.

The recipients of Prime Minister's police medal were Salem City Police Commissioner T Senthilkumar, Idol Wing SP S Rajeswari, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic, Chennai N M Myilvahanan, DCP Armed Reserve-II Ravichandran, DCP Armed Reserve-I K Soundararajan, DSP SB-CID S Vasanthan, DSP DVAC, Nagercoil G Mathialagan, DSP CB-CID Tirunelveli V Anilkumar, ACP CCB Tiruppur city K Sundarraj, DSP DVAC HQ Chennai S Ramadoss, DSP Civil Supplies CID Coimbatore Sub-Division N Ravikumar, DVAC Nagapattinam Inspector G Rameshkumar, SB-CID Inspector M Nandakumar, DVAC Erode Inspector M Natarajan, Inspector C-CID Tuticorin N Tirupathi, ACP St Thomas Mount Traffic S Anwar Basha, Special SI (SSI) SB-CID A Manivelu, SSI DVAC N Jayachandran, SSI SB-CID T David, SSI DVAC J P Shiva Kumar and SSI DVAC Chennai Y Chandrasekaran.
