Tiger scare: Gudalur DFO office besieged

Villagers besieged the Gudalur District Forest Office (DFO) with the carcass of a calf killed in suspected tiger attack in The Nilgiris, demanding its capture on Wednesday.

Following the protest, Forest Department officials have assured to set up a cage in the coming days to trap the carnivore. The officials have also decided to step up monitoring to prevent the animal from straying into ‘Chemundi’ village.
