Textile delegation meets Goyal seeking cotton import duty removal

Goyal assured to address the issues faced by the textile industry.

COIMBATORE: A delegation from the textile industry on Monday appealed to Union Minister of Textile and Commerce Piyush Goyal for removal of 11 per cent import duty on cotton. The delegation comprising T Rajkumar, chairman, Confederation of Indian Textiles Industry (CITI), Manoj Patodia, chairman, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), Narendra Goenka, chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Ravi Sam, chairman, The Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) and Raja M Shanmugham, president of Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) met Goyal pressing for removal of import duty on cotton. Goyal assured to address the issues faced by the textile industry.
