Before leaving for Delhi, Tamilisai told reporters at the airport, “The party high level meeting on the upcoming Parliamentary elections is scheduled in Delhi and I am rushing with the list of probable candidates. After the party finalises the list, the names of the candidates will be announced officially.”

The BJP, which is part of the AIADMK-led alliance, will be contesting in five Lok Sabha constituencies of Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore, Thoothukudi, Kanniyakumari and Sivaganga. After several rounds of talks with the party functionaries, Tamilisai prepared the list of candidates. When asked whether she will contest in the Lok Sabha elections, she replied that if party asks me to contest, I will do so. She also said that the choice of the constituency will also be decided by the party.

She further mocked Congress president Rahul Gandhi and DMK president MK Stalin for their recent statements in Kanniyakumari meeting.
