T R Baalu becomes Parliamentary leader and Kanimozhi his deputy

24 MP-elect DMK candidates have gathered in the Anna Arivalayam for selection of the party's parliamentary positions.

A meeting was convened by MK Stalin in the DMK Headquarters Anna Arivalayam at 5 in the Saturday evening. The agenda was the selection of party's Parliamentary leaders Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The meeting saw the participation of all the DMK's elected MPs. TR Baalu who won by a whooping margin of over 5 lakh votes is the Parliamentary leader and Kanimozhi who defeated the BJP heavyweight Tamilisai Soundararajan was chosen his deputy, for the Lok Sabha. Trichy Siva is Rajya Sabha Parliamentary leader and veteran TKS Elangovan his deputy.

While the Nilgiri constituency's MP-elect, A. Raja is the whip and SS Palanimanickam is the treasurer of the DMK's parliamentary council. The interesting fact is that 13 new faces and 5 literatis will foray into the Indian Parliament representing the DMK.
