State reduces cable TV tariff to Rs 130

The state government on Wednesday reduced the tariff of channel packages offered by Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (TACTV) and set the minimum cost at Rs 130 (plus GST).

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami made the announcement in which he said that except for Vellore district, which is facing an election, the tariff for channel packages offered by TACTV will be reduced to Rs 130 (plus GST). 

The Chief Minister also said that since its introduction in September, 2017, more than 35 lakh set top boxes were issued by the government and now government is in the process of distributing digital set top boxes. At present TACTV is offering five different packages.
