Stalin deceiving people with false promises, says EPS

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami during his campaign on Monday in Nanguneri, criticised DMK president and leader of the opposition MK Stalin, saying that he was giving false promise to garner votes. Campaigning for the October 21 bypoll in the constituency, for AIADMK candidate Reddiarpatti V Narayanan, the Chief Minister said people were being deceived by such promises.

Stating that he always stood by his words and gave reasonable promises to the people during his campaign, Chief Minister Palaniswami said, however, Stalin spoke only falsehood and keeps dreaming of becoming the next chief minister and it would never happen.

Stalin was making all out efforts to break the AIADMK and capture power somehow. Unlike DMK, the Chief Minister said the AIADMK was the ‘ISI’ stamped movement (Iyakkam).

DMK and its ally, Congress seldom bothered about people and forgot them totally. He said forging alliance to face polls was different from that of maintaining principles of ideology for any party. Furthermore, he termed Stalin as a ‘political trader.’ Corruption was rampant when DMK was ruling in alliance with Congress at Centre, he said referring to the 2G spectrum scam, which brought shame on people of Tamil Nadu. Even air was not spared in the massive corruption. Further taking a dig at the DMK, the Chief Minister said politicians from that party behaved like a chameleon, which often changes its colour according to situations.

Taking pride, the Chief Minister said the state government is making big strides in the medical sector as all government hospitals were well equipped and doctors had been providing required treatments to patients on a par with private hospitals. The Chief Minister campaigned in parts of Nanguneri, Erwadi, Thirukurungudi, Mavadi and Kalakad, sources said.
