Stalin consoles CRPF jawan's family in Seevalaperi, hands over Rs 2 lakh

DMK president MK Stalin on Monday visited Seevalaperi village in Kayathar Panchayat Union in Thoothukudi district to offer homage to slain CRPF jawan.

Stalin was accompanied by DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, P Geetha Jeevan, Thoothukudi MLA and Anitha R Radhakrishnan, Tiruchendur MLA. They offered floral tributes to the portrait of martyred soldier G Subramanian in his house at the village.


He spent some time with the grief stricken family and consoled Krishnaveni, wife of the slain jawan and his parents. Subramanian was one of the martyred soldiers who died in a terror attack unleashed at Pulwama on February 14. After consoling the bereaved family, Stalin handed over a solatium of Rs 2 lakh on the occasion. In the wake of his demise, the state government offered exgratia of Rs 20 lakh to the bereaved family and announced a job for his family member.


Moreover, leaders of various political parties and several others extended financial aid to the grief stricken family in honour of his sacrifice to the nation after paying homage, sources said. After paying homage to the slain soldier, Stalin presided over grama sabha meetings at Mela Kuttudankadu villageand at Vembar inThoothukudi district.


Stalin interacted with several people, who took part in the meeting and aired their grievances. With the completion of these grama sabha meetings, Stalin said he had covered 21 villages, so far in the state.
