Police said that Vadivelu (54), a special sub inspector attached to the crime division of the Tiruvannamalai town police station, fainted while he was about to board his two-wheeler for the routine official rounds. However, his colleagues who saw him falling unconscious, immediately took Vadivelu inside the station and tried to revive him. Since, his condition failed to improve, his colleagues immediately rushed him to the Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College Hospital where he succumbed in the early hours ofMonday.

Vadievelu is survived by wife, 2 daughters and a son. Sources said that both his daughters were married, whileVadivelu was in the process of fixing his son’s marriage.
