Sniffer dog Roony laid to rest

Dindigul police bid tearful adieu to their sniffer dog Roony on Tuesday.

The two-year old female dog was brought in the force to help the specialised unit. Roony was trained to help police in tracking down drug dealers. However, the sniffer was unwell and hospitalised after its health deteriorated over the last few months. The dog died on Tuesday. It was laid to rest with full state honours. Dindigul Collector SVisakan and SP VR Srinivasan laid wreaths.
