Several leaders, including Premalatha, former Mayor test COVID positive

Several prominent politicians, including DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakant, Saidapet MLA and former city Mayor Ma Subramanian, Deputy Speaker Pollachi Jayaraman and a couple of AIADMK district secretaries tested positive for COVID-19 over the past two days.

Premalatha has been admitted to the Miot Hospital here where her husband and party leader Vijayakant has been receiving treatment after testing positive on September 22.

DMK MLA Ma Subramanian and his wife Kalpana have also tested positive for the virus. While he has been under home quarantine, his wife has been presently admitted to the Kavery Hospital for treatment. When all AIADMK leaders participating at the party Executive Committee meeting had tested for the virus on Sunday, Pollachi Jayaraman’s results turned positive besides that of a few others in the party. They had to skip the meeting following their results.
