Rs 1 lakh worth copper coils stolen

Copper coils worth Rs 1 lakh were stolen from an electrical equipment in Sipcot area of Gummudipoondi on Tuesday night, police said.

According to them, the coils were stored in Bharat Electricals, owned by Clement (46). “Clement locked his shop around 10 pm. On Tuesday night, he did the same and returned home. When he came back on Wednesday, he found the front lock broke open,” a police official said. Clement immediately alerted the police who conducted a preliminary investigation. The police said that after inquiry they found that 35 kilograms of copper coil to be missing from the shop. Gummudipoondi police are investigating.
