Resource centre for Tamil Nadu teachers open now

CHENNAI: To impart hands-on experiential learning to teachers, the School Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, inaugurated the State Resource Centre here on Wednesday. This centre will also be accessible to teachers and students throughout the year.

The primary objectives of this centre include providing academic support, training teachers on learning-teaching strategies based on new modern technologies to enhance teaching quality and providing necessary recommendations to enhance classroom learning.

In addition, child-centred strategies for classroom learning and laboratory models for students are being designed.

As part of educational tourism, teachers and students can visit the resource centre directly on reserved working days to gain a valuable learning experience.

This centre has been established with modern facilities at Rs 5 crore, funded by the Integrated School Education. The facility has separate halls set up for each subject, including science and mathematics, to ensure teachers and students acquire subject-specific knowledge.

In addition, a room for differently-abled students to enrich computational thinking, and a separate hall named 'Karka Kasadara' has been set up for students to conduct experiments on subject-specific concepts.

Also, events including webinars, training workshops, discussions, and lectures by industry experts will be held to raise awareness.
