A division bench of Justices MM Sundaresh and N Sathiskumar were hearing petitions filed by Prabhakar Pandian of Meenakshi Nagar and Kanimozhi of Chennai.

After hearing the petitions, the bench directed K Amarnath Ramakrishna, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) official who led both the phases of excavation at Keezhadi, to submit the report on October 31 and adjourned the case.

According to Pandian, Ramakrishna was transferred by the Centre and was ordered by the ASI to stop drafting the report, when the excavation was progressing towards its third phase.
