Rajini Makkal Mandram disciplinary committee to be dissolved

It is rumoured that the disciplinary action committee of Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) that is currently being overseen by Dr Illavarasan will be dissolved and a new committee will be instituted shortly.

The news comes after many reports of dissent and unease among the members at the committee’s strict action against office bearers and members since its inception. The members are said to have expressed unhappiness that Dr Illavarasan, who previously was with the DMDK was given so much clout within the organisation.

The change also leaves more questions about the role of State Secretary Raju Mahalingam and Chief Coordinator V M Sudhakar whose involvement had diminished in the recent months. There were also reports of Raju Mahalingam being phased out of the organisation, with little involvement.

While the RMM has denied any such claims of sidelining important office bearers, no formal comment was made on the exact nature of their roles.
