Pvt elephant owner booked in Tiruchy

Days after a private elephant owner was arrested for transporting his elephant without proper documentations putting the jumbo's life at risk, the Forest Department has booked a case against the elder brother of the man for illegally transporting another elephant without proper permission on Thursday.

On Wednesday, N Sekar, who owns a female elephant Rani (48), had reportedly transported the jumbo to Tiruvannamalai for a private program without availing prior permission.


When officials visited the private camp based on a tip-off, they found the elephant to be missing on Thursday. While Sekar is absconding, case has been booked.
