Puducherry Education Minister flags off NCC sailing expedition

Education Minister of Puducherry Kamalakannan on Tuesday flagged off the sailing expedition “Samudragami” from Thengaithittu Ocean Sailing Expedition harbour.

The Sailing Expedition consists of 25 Girl Cadets and 35 Boy Cadets from Puducherry and Tamil Nadu and is organised by the NCC Group.


The expedition is sailing from Thengaithittu to Karaikal through Cuddalore. Parangipettai, Pazhayar, Tharangampadi and Karaikal. The expedition will be covering a total distance of around 406 km is being held under the support of NCC Directorate of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry & Andaman Directorate. During the expedition the team will be undertaking various activities including pollution awareness drives, coastal clean-up, tree plantation and adventure activities. Commodore Malay K Kukreti, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry & Andaman stressed on the importance of inculcating adventure spirit in the youth.
