Those embarking at the Sholinghur station came prepared with all the necessary pooja materials. When the train chugged into the station, they boarded it and immediately started the preparatory works of the celebrations giving the passengers a pleasant surprise.

They cleaned the seats and set the pictures of Gods, they tied plantain saplings on the entrance and decorated the coach with colourful festoons and sandal paste.

Nearly 1,000 students and workers travel daily to Chennai from areas surrounding Sholinghur and hence the organisers prayed specially for the safe and speedy journey of the train commuters.

After the completion of the pooja, they distributed groundnut and traditional ‘pori’ to co-passengers to the accompaniment of applause. Needless to say, the mobile celebrations on the train have moved most of the passengers’ heart and won their appreciation.
