Justice G Jayachandran, before whom the plea came, quashed his appointment on Thursday after holding that the rules that governing cooperative societies have not been followed.

As per the plea seeking to set aside his appointment, the Tiruvannamalai District Cooperative Societies sub-registrar on August 28 had appointed Agri Krishnamoorthy as chairman of Tiruvannamalai District Milk Producers Cooperative Society without holding elections. But while his appointment was made by virtue of him running a milk producers union at Illathur, the said union till date has not even supplied a litre of milk to Aavin while the rule insists on a society supplying 120 litres of milk in 90 days.
