Pondy records 387 new COVID cases, 2 deaths

As many as 387 more persons were tested positive for the Coronavirus and two patients died in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

There was a total number of 4,933 active cases ending at 10 AM on Tuesday.

According to the COVID-19 status released by the health department here, 312 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 48 in Karaikal region, 17 in Yanam region and 10 in Mahe region.

As many as 460 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. Of them, 359 were from Puducherry region, 54 from Karaikal region, 28 from Yanam region and 19 from Mahe region.

Both the deaths were reported in Puducherry region.

Presently, 1433 patients are being treated in Puducherry region, 161 in Karaikal region,113 in Yanam region and 55 in Mahe region.

Another 3,171 persons tested positive for Coronavirus were being treated under home isolation in all the four regions of the UT.

So far, 27,066 persons were infected by the virus and of which 21,616 patients were treated and discharged and 517 died.

As many as 4,933 patients were presently being treated in hospitals and home isolation.
