Pondy Minister’s lost mobile recovered

Police on Wednesday evening recovered the cell phone of Agriculture Minister R Kamalakannan after two unidentified persons snatched the mobile from him late on Monday night.

According to the police, three special teams were constituted for the purpose and started monitoring the cell phone which was switched off.


Meanwhile, the cell phone was found switched on late last evening and the signal led the police to a shop at Villianur near here.


Police seized the phone and on interrogation, the shopkeeper informed the police that two persons on a motorcycle sold the phone to him for Rs 3,500.


On description from the shopkeeper, police identified the accused as Senthil and Bala who are said to be absconding.
