The members of Pollachi Train Passengers Welfare Association have requested the railways to resume the operations and also took up the issue with Pollachi MP K Shanmugasundaram, who inspected Pollachi railway station on Tuesday. The MP has assured to take the issue to the knowledge of railway authorities.

“The labourers from Southern districts would prefer the train. They all were now forced to opt for the bus by shelling out a higher amount. Also, pilgrims to Palani, Madurai and Rameswaram were hit due to absence of these trains connecting the Southern districts,” said B Mohanraj of the association.
