Perimeter road to be laid at Vellore airport

The completed runway and the terminal buildings of the Vellore airport are likely to be linked following moves to hand over land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to lay a road at the cost of Rs 1.07 crore on the periphery of the facility, according to official sources.

The decision was taken at a high level meeting in Chennai in which the principal secretaries of the Transport and Highways departments, AAI officials and revenue officials from Vellore districtparticipated. Highways departmentofficials plan to undertake a spot inspection of the premises on Thursday, sources revealed.
