Parcels of 12 kg ganja found in express train

CHENGALPATTU: Tension prevailed in Chengalpattu when an abandoned consignment of ganja was found in an express train on Wednesday.

The express train from Kakkinada in Andhra Pradesh to Chengalpattu reached the station at 9 am on Wednesday. While the sanitary workers were cleaning the train before it departed to Kakkinada, they found parcels lying abandoned in a corner of one of the unreserved compartments. On information, the railway protection force rushed to the spot and confiscated the bags containing the contraband. “When we opened the bags we found bundles of ganja totally weighing 12 kg,” police said. Investigations are on.
