Panchayat president candidate hit by lorry

A panchayat president candidate in Pullambadi here was seriously injured after an unidentified lorry hit his two-wheeler while he was returning home late on Sunday.

Parthiban (52), a panchayat president candidate for Keezha Arsoor village panchayat in Pullambadi union, was nearing his house in Arasoor, when the speeding lorry hit his two-wheeler and fled. Parthiban, who was tossed off after the hit, fell on the ground with serious injuries. Two youth, who were on the way, saw Parthiban struggling for life and they soon rushed him to Pullambadi GH from where he was rushed to a private hospital in Tiruchy. Parthiban’s supporters claimed it due to election rivalry.
