Over 13,000 samples tested in TN; TPR stands at 3.2%

TN’s test positivity rate stood at 3.2% after 13,028 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Ranipet had highest TPR of 7.4%. Active cases of COVID-19 in the State stood at 5,072.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 404 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Total number of cases in the State exceeded 35.85 lakh. New cases in Chennai stood at 91, while 35 cases were recorded in Chengalpattu, and 25 in Coimbatore. TN’s test positivity rate stood at 3.2% after 13,028 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

Ranipet had highest TPR of 7.4%. Active cases of COVID-19 in the State stood at 5,072. Highest in Chennai 2,318 active cases. A total of 504 people discharged. Total recoveries from COVID-19 crossed 35.42 lakh. With no new COVID-related fatality in the past 24 hours, death toll stood at 38,047.
