On Thursday, Aiswarya went to a relative’s house nearby while Ezhilan was asleep in the house. Meanwhile, Ezhilan who woke up, walked out and slipped into a ground level sump in the front of the house. When Aiswarya returned and she was shocked to find the baby in the sump. Immediately, she rescued the baby with the help of the neighbours and rushed him to Walajapet government headquarters hospital. The doctors from there referred the baby to a private hospital in Mel Visharam nearby.

However, the one-year-old boy died at the private hospital without responding to the treatment. According to sources, the accident occurred as the sump meant to store water did not have a lid for closure.
