Old man’s body found in temple tank

Locals were shocked when they found an unidentified male body floating in the temple tank near Walajahpet in VC Mottur village on Monday.

The body of a man was floating in the Gangai amman temple in the village and the locals on seeing the body immediately informed the Walajahpet police who rushed to the spot and recovered the body of a 50-year-old man and sent it to the Walajahet district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.

Police said they would register a case basedon the post mortemreport.
