North East Monsoon: TN govt anticipates 40 cms rainfall in three days

The government statement released after the monsoon preparedness meeting chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalin at the state secretariat Monday morning said that it has been learnt from various forecast models that Tamil Nadu could receive heavy rainfall.

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu state government anticipates around 40 cm of rain between Monday and Thursday.

Citing an October 13 report of the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in coastal and northern districts of Tamil Nadu from October 14 to 17, the government statement released after the monsoon preparedness meeting chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalin at the state secretariat Monday morning said that it has been learnt from various forecast models that Tamil Nadu could receive heavy rainfall.

From October 14 to 17, it has been learnt that the state could altogether receive rain up to 40 cms, including 20 cms maximum in a day.
