Newborn girl stolen from Krishnagiri Government Hospital

A newborn girl was allegedly stolen by unidentified persons from the Krishnagiri Government Hospital on Monday.

According to police, Gayathri, 25, wife of Ravi, 29, a lorry driver from Nayakkanur in Krishnagiri district, had delivered a girl in the government hospital on December 5. She already has two girl children.


On Monday afternoon, Gayathri went to see her mother-in-law and two children, who were waiting outside the ward by leaving the baby alone. When she returned in a short while, she was shocked to find her baby missing. 


Based on her complaint, the hospital authorities informed the Krishnagiri Town police, who arrived and held an inquiry.


The police are also scanning the images recorded on a CCTV camera fixed on the hospital premises to trace the culprits. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
