New districts unveiled in Tamil Nadu

Two new districts were inaugurated in the north of Tamil Nadu to improve administrative operations, reports said.

Chief Minister Edapaddi K Palaniswamy unveiled Ranipettai and Tirupattur districts in a grand ceremony - both were carved out of Vellore district. 

The inauguration took place at Don Bosco High School in Tirupattur and at the state-run verterinary college in Ranipettai. 

Palaniswamy was accompanied by deputy chief minister O Paneerselvam and several ministers. 

Tamil Nadu now has a total of 37 districts.
