The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Coimbatore International Airport by a special flight from Mysuru around 6.45 pm. From there, he would reach Codissia grounds, the venue for the public meeting, around 7pm.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, PMK chief S Ramadoss, Tamil Maanila Congress leader G K Vasan and DMDK’s Premalatha Vijayakant are expected to attend the meeting.

The meeting venue has been brought under heightened surveillance with police barring entry for public into the ground, which has a capacity to accommodate around five lakh people.

More than 2,000 police personnel have been drawn for bandobust duty. Round-the- clock checks have also been enhanced in all check posts in the district. Four bullet proof cars for the Prime Minister have reached Coimbatore from Delhi. The PM’s visit is likely to bolster the mood of BJP workers in Coimbatore and neighbouring districts ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
