The water inflow from Karnataka dams reaches Mettur dam through Hokenakkal. Currently, the water inflow is more than 1lakh cubic feet in a second because of which Cauvery River flowing between hokennakal and Mettur,  is heavily flooded. Thus, the inflow is high in Mettur dam and the water level is increasing incessantly.

The inflow in Mettur dam increased from 1.15lakh cubic feet to 1.65lakh cubic feet. As the water inflow

is increasing, the water level is also increasing simultaneously. Within a day, water level increased 15 feet and reached 82.62 feet. The dam’s water balance is 44.61 DMC.

1000 cubic feet is sent for drinking water every second. Moreover, by tomorrow(13th August) the water level is expected to touch 100 feet.
