Man mixes pesticide in tank, held

A man reportedly mixed pesticides in the water tank at a residence of a businessman in Tiruchy on Friday. However, the inmates found out something is wrong after a foul smell.

Kannappan (43) of Raja Colony near Collectorate and his relative Kasirajan (64) were running a hotel in Tiruchy. The police said that there was a dispute between the business partners and were planning to split.


During an altercation, Kasirajan reportedly threatened Kannappan that he would mix poison in his water tank. Kannappan, who did not take it seriously, was shocked to find a foul smell from his water tank. When Kannappan checked the water in the tank, he found that the pesticide has been mixed in it. Subsequently, Kannappan lodged a complaint with the Cantonment police who has secured Kasirajan and are interrogating.
