Lorry shed owner surrenders in Srivaikuntam

Velu alias Velmurugan, one of the associates of rowdy Binu, and also the owner of the lorry shed where the birthday celebration of Binu was held, surrendered at the Judicial Magistrate court in Srivaikuntam, in Thoothukudi district, on Wednesday.

Binu celebrated his birthday in a lorry shed in Malayambakkam, on the outskirts of Chennai, on February 6. Police managed to arrest more than 75 of the history-sheeters who had participated in the birthday party but Binu went absconding. However,Binu had surrendered on Tuesday at Ambattur.

Police were still on the lookout for Velu and on Wednesday Velu surrendered in the Judicial Magistrate Court in Srivaikuntam, in front of judge Murugan. According to Police sources Velu had informed in the court that he had no connection with the birthday celebration. 

Following that judge had directed the police to take him to Sriperumbudur Court on February 23, while till then he will be lodged in Palayamkottai prison. Police sources said that Velu was involved smuggling red-sanders and more than four cases are pending against him in various parts of the state.
